| Acquired from the distressed lending
arm of a major bank in January 2002, the Holiday Inn Ashford A20
North was originally branded a Garden Court property, and had consistently
failed to achieve its full potential since opening in 1992. Centre
Island quickly identified that the effects of poor management coupled
with a lack of capital investment were the key issues affecting
the hotel’s financial performance. A complete overhaul of
the management structure and a staff development programme, focusing
on the basic elements of service and cleanliness, immediately improved
the property’s financial returns. A subsequent capital investment
programme and re-branding the property as a full-service Holiday
Inn has re-positioned the property and significantly improved both
market share and revenue achieved. |
